Matariki Follow Up

Their names- Waita, Waiti, Waipunarangi, Ururangi, Tupu-a-rangi, Tupu-a-nuku, Matariki What they enjoy and what their in charge of- Tending plant’s, Singing, Accompains their grandmother to the water, lakes and oceans, Caring for smallest and fastest creatures and Racing. What we can learn from the sisters- We can learn how to encourage people to celebrate Matariki. We are reminded that we all have our special time and place and to spend time growing our pukenga, as well as that of our friends. Your own symbol and image to represent Matariki and her daughters-

The thing I found hard was to remember all the things I read and learnt about Matariki. The thing I enjoyed was creating a poster, understanding and learning what Matariki was.

  1. Hi Heavenly, it's Thom from Yaldhurst here.

This is a great blog post! I love the fact that you put in the names of the matariki stars. Matariki is such a big thing in NZ but we don't celebrate it that much so I think that doing a blog post about it was a great idea. I also love the picture you made and thought it was very colourful.

I like reading the matariki books because they teach you a lot about matariki and I think everyone in NZ should know what matariki is about because it is such a big thing here.

    Keep up the great blogging.
    Awesome picture.
